So it was somewhat of a rough start for me, we ran from our car to the race down the street because we didn't want to be late. Then before the race had even begun I had to go to the bathroom SOOO bad and there was literally, a mile line to the "porta's" and I hadn't even checked in. So I ran and got in line at the bathrooms by the race line and was freaking out because Emily & Sarah were waiting for me at the check in's while I was going to the bathroom. Well the girl in front of me told me there were bathrooms by the check-in, so I ran back to the check-in's and the line was long there. Emily was able to check me in and I grabbed my shirt and realized that now I had to carry it and I already had 2 shirts on (I heard it was going to be cold). So then I had 3 shirts on. Great. So I threw it on and ran back to the bathrooms by the race line, hoping to get in before it started. Luckily, the girl that had been in front of me saved me a spot in line and I waited as the race announcer kept dropping the time until start. So with 1 minute left I made it to the bathroom! I did my thing and just as I closed the door, the gun was shot! I ran over to Emily and Sarah Steiner and we just hopped into the race! We were lucky because we sneaked into the huge jogging crowd of thousands of people and had a good start. But by the time I started the race, I felt like I had already ran 1 mile, lost everything in my bladder & bowels (sorry for too much info) and hadn't stretched a whole lot! Needless to say it was a tough run, I think because of all that and it was super humid and drizzled here and there. But I feel so proud because I didn't stop the whole time and I made it under 1 hour! That was mine & Emily's only goal this time, to not stop. Simple enough but I am so proud that I did it. It was fun too because I ended up jogging with not only Emily but my future sister-in-law Sarah. We decided we would be jogging buddies from here on out and we also convinced Craig & Doug to run it with us next year! I think I want to make a habit of doing runs like this, it is fun & helps me to stay in shape.

Way to be a turkey trotter! My mom and dad do it together every year...maybe someday I'll catch on to the inspiration.
I love the action shot! Way to go:)
We are buying bikes for our Christmas present this year & i'm sooo excited. I love family bike rides!
Awesome job on the Turkey Trot! I would love to do a 10k next year, the most I've done in a 5K. I'm the same way running just isn't in me. Looks like your internship is keeping you busy huh. Your half way done aren't you? I will be calling you for advice on the distance learning programs. I really need to get my app together this month.
uh... that is one nasty picture of me after the turkey trot!
Wow! Great Job. I'm proud of you! Races are fun. They help me stay on top of my exercising too. Some year I'd love to join you in the Turkey trot!
Way to go girlie! I'm so impressed! You did awesome in the run even though you had a crazy start! I have been trying to be more consistent, but you know how it can be. Maybe I'll be able to join you next year! Ha... if I can get my bum in gear... I love you and miss you. I feel like I haven't talked to you in forever. Still haven't finished the book- I know, it's taking me forever, but all my teachers decided that assignments should be handed out like pancakes. (Who hands pancakes out though?) Anyway... love you and I hope I get to talk to you soon.
So now that you have done a 10k, how about a half marathon? I've been scoping them out so I'll have something to work toward to make me get back in shape. I think it would be so fun to pick one in a cool city and meet up with a bunch of our friends and run it! just a thought :)
Yea for your Turkey Trotting! Sounds like you are doing well, we should do breakfast with the girls from school one of these days so we can catch up! Have a Merry Christmas!
