Holiday Recap

So it has been forever since I have blogged, or so I feel! There is so much that has gone on and I just feel the need to express myself and all that has gone on!

So right now I am at the hospital and it has been great! It isn't at scary as I thought and I am loving applying what I learned in school. It is really eye opening though too. Today there was a man who was only 43 years old who has pancreatic cancer that has spread to his liver & kidneys. Pretty much, once it spreads to your pancreas alone you have a 4% chance of survival because it is the organ that produces all the enzymes for your digestion. It was really sad seeing him and just thinking, wow, he is only 43 and his life is over. I mean he did smoke for 30 years... but there are lots of incidences like that that just make me so grateful for good health & amazing medical discoveries. It is also neat to see how nutrition plays such a huge part in their health. I must say though, things are getting really busy and I am work all day, come home make dinner and only have a couple hours to do something, and then I have to hurry and go to bed. It gets old not having very much time & I am feeling very behind:) But all is well!

So Craig is thinking about podiatry school now! Pretty exciting. He has still applied to MD & DO schools but he is thinking more seriously about podiatry. I actually really like the idea and think it would fit his personality great! But we will see & know we will be guided to what is best. He is going to be shadowing a couple different doctors and podiatrists in the upcoming weeks. He is also back to school and working like 3 jobs! Wow, he is such a hard worker and I am so grateful to him for all he does to provide for us and without one complaint. I hope I can return the favor and help him out once I am done so he doesn't have to be so overloaded.

So here are some pics from Christmas to New Years!

Please notice my most adorable niece!! I am such a proud auntie. I will have to show some even cuter pics of her later.

Random pic, I know, but I won when we went bowling!! I was so proud it was by best game ever!

A NAU roommate reunion - It was so great to see my girls! Thanks Raquel for the most amazing waffles...

Look at this cutie!

So for New Years day the Freemans always go out to the desert. It was great this year, lots of mule riding, games, shooting guns & good food. Here is me & Craig, we are pretty much born killers... j/k I was having fun trying to be hardcore.

Melissa, I am pretty sure that this is the day that we saw you when you were on the way home from shooting. On the freeway. Good times. Let's just not think about the many many times Ryan broke the law in front of you guys. Will he ever behave? :)

Sad I didn't get to see you again before we headed back to CO. I miss you! Lunch was so fun. It's so easy and comfortable to talk to you about anything and everything. I love you so much! Good luck with crazy life right now!

I agree with you 100% about the lack of encouragement and support regarding families from school for those who are in the health field. It is a joke to sit in my class and hear other females talk about how they never want to ever have kids 'cuz their one dog is enough work, or their "kid" whom I don't even know his real name cuz she doesn't talk about him like an actual mother would, or the number of homosexual couples in our class... I just don't get why they don't encourage families. Oh wait, because if you have a family you actually love them and want to be at home with them instead of working. Oh, yeah. Ha ha. Love you! Keep pressing forward!
