Rough Night

So I have been having some rough nights lately and I know it is just a "hint" of what's to come:)

I think I tossed and turned 10 times last night and every time I switched sides, I had the most throbbing pain on the side I was just laying on. It almost reminded me of a "charlie horse" but down my side. Then I woke up, not only feeling restless but I had a sore throat! Yuck. I could hear Craig was in the shower now and briefly thought about how I needed to make him a lunch. I stretched my leg and Yikes! I experienced the WORST "charlie horse" I have ever felt before, it wouldn't go away!! I tried to yelp for Craig to come save me but he didn't hear... so I crumpled in agony as I tried to flex it out and it seemed like the longest 1 min and then it went away. Boy did I feel so defeated this morning. Craig got out and I shed a few tears, that always makes me feel better. I was reminded how long the next 4 months are going to be! He was sweet to take care of me this morn before he left though, but it was definitely one of those days that I wished I could just lay back, watch a movie, not worry about studying and have my mom bring me food & juice. Oh that would be nice. But I quickly got over that fantasy and drove Craig his lunch/dinner that he forgot:) I felt better once I started doing something-

I know I after posting this I will get the, "just you wait Melissa, you will never sleep again" talk but I am honestly excited for everything to come. Yeah my body is getting more awkward but at the same time I am loving going thru it and am just loving this little person inside of me! I feel so ready for the next stage in life but at the same time I realize that it will all take some adjusting.
Craig has been studying late at school this week due to a test next Monday but I am proud of all he is doing. I just send him with a lunch & dinner so he can stay there and focus until he is ready to come home and relax!
We always have a lot of fun when he is home and make the most of it. It actually works out fine since all I do is run errands and study for the dreaded "RD Exam" and look forward to the day that I don't have to study, can play with my friends again and work on crafts.
Someday that day will come... and then I will have a baby:)

You will get some sleep, you just have to find different ways to sleep. I'll show you some tricks with pillows to help you get more comfy. Try stretching everyday to help with the pains and eat lots of bananas to help with the cramping.

you're so cute melissa and your post totally hits the spot. One day Matt fell asleep on Emerson's bed while laying on his side and said "don't ever sleep on your side I woke up with a terrible cramp" I said to him "yes honey I know that's how I've been sleeping for the last 9 months!" I saw some one recmd bananas and don't forget a lot of milk too. But neither of those helped me :-( Good luck girl! When is your baby shower going to be?

Bananas are supposed to help with charlie horses (as was already mentioned). They usually help me. And if you get acid reflux in the weeks to come, drink Papaya juice. Pregnancy is so awesome and so terrible all at the same time. :)

That happened to me the other day, too. I thought I was going to die. Roy and I had fallen asleep in the living room and when I woke up in the morning with my charlie horse in my leg, he was upstairs in the shower. So I, too, was helpless. Awkward is such a good word to describe everything right now!

I feel bad for Craig, and I haven't even met him. Poor guy having to deal with you tossing and turning all night!

Congrats on the girl!! WHOO HOO! That is so exciting! I love all the updates and the pics...Charlie horses are the WORST!! I had many of them. My hips ached so bad at the end of my pregnancy I could hardly sleep. Having a cute baby to kiss sure makes up for the sleepless nights though....and you are so cute preggo girl!
love you!

Melissa-
I have been pregnant six times..... and I STILL always forgot not to stretch out in bed first thing in the morning. No one knows WHY we get those awful cramps in our legs when we're pregnant, but boy oh boy do I remember them! And it's just too hard to keep from doing that early AM stretch!!

So happy for you. Girls are great! Hope you're doing great out there in California!

Charlie horses are the worst!! Taking a calcium supplement TOTALLY helped me with those. They would make me cry, they're so miserable!! What a great wife you are! I'm sure it's easier for Craig to study with a full stomache!

I hate those. Bert knows the routine by now... I scream out and he rubs my leg. Good luck with all the other fun things that come with pregnacy. Isn't Emily's wedding exciting? Can't wait to see everyone, including you.
